Hugh D’Andrade for GLC, “It takes a story”

Hugh D’Andrade did this illustration (and the typography) for Illinois-based marketing agency, GLC. The piece was created for use in print ads for the agency, and here is how the creative director described the concept when he initially commissioned Hugh to create the piece: “ This ad intends to demonstrate the process of audience engagement using the analogy of a seed (the story), growing into a fruit-bearing tree (the results). We see the text being seamlessly integrated into the composition. The visual challenge will be in balancing the text elements such that readers will follow the path of the text from bottom to top, rather than the other way around”.

An interesting concept, and we think Hugh did a great job with it!
